      65 ILCS 5/11-33-1         from Ch. 24, par. 11-33-1
          Amends the  Illinois  Municipal  Code.   Makes  technical
      changes   in  the  Section  concerning  the  registration  of
      electrical contractors.

 1        AN ACT to amend the Illinois Municipal Code  by  changing
 2    Section 11-33-1.
 3        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:
 5        Section 5.  The Illinois Municipal  Code  is  amended  by
 6    changing Section 11-33-1 as follows:
 7        (65 ILCS 5/11-33-1) (from Ch. 24, par. 11-33-1)
 8        Sec.   11-33-1.   The   corporate   authorities  of  each
 9    municipality  may  require  the  registration  of  electrical
10    contractors, and may impose an annual registration fee of $25
11    on each registered contractor. An electrical  contractor  who
12    is  registered  in  one  municipality,  however, shall not be
13    required by any other municipality to be registered or to pay
14    a registration fee in the other municipality.
15        The  term  "electrical  contractor,"  as  used  in   this
16    Section,   means  any  person  engaged  in  the  business  of
17    installing or altering by contract electrical  equipment  for
18    the utilization of electricity for light, heat, or power. But
19    The  term  "electrical contractor" does shall not include the
20    installing or altering of (1) radio  apparatus  or  equipment
21    for   wireless  reception  of  sounds  and  signals,  or  (2)
22    apparatus, conductors, or other equipment installed for or by
23    public utilities, including common carriers, which are  under
24    the jurisdiction of the Illinois Commerce Commission, for use
25    in  their  operation  as public utilities. Nor shall The term
26    "electrical  contractor"  does  not  include  the   employees
27    employed  by  an electrical contractor to do or supervise his
28    or her work.
