1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of
3 the State of Illinois were pleased to learn that Dow Chemical
4 Company of Joliet has been chosen as the recognized business
5 by the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and
6 WHEREAS, Dow Chemical Company will be presented with this
7 honor at the annual Salute to Industry program and banquet on
8 February 4, 1997; and
9 WHEREAS, In the past, Dow Chemical Company has received
10 many awards, including the Joyce Schenk Award for Continuous
11 Exemplary Service in Promoting Quality of Life in Will County
12 from the Joliet-Will County Center for Economic Development;
13 the Distinguished Achievement in Occupational Safety and
14 Health Award from the National Safety Council; and the World
15 Environmental Center Gold Medal for International Corporate
16 Environmental Achievement; and
17 WHEREAS, The Dow Chemical Company has been a part of the
18 Joliet community for over 20 years; therefore, be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
21 congratulate the Dow Chemical Company on being the recognized
22 business by the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce and
23 Industry; and be it further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to the Dow Chemical Company.
