1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Crime rates have risen in metropolitan and rural
3 areas throughout the State; and
4 WHEREAS, With the effusion of crime and growing crime
5 rates, merchants and other business people are using video
6 surveillance systems as a means of protection and crime
7 prevention; therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10 urge the Attorney General and the Director of State Police to
11 conduct a campaign to inform merchants and others using video
12 surveillance security devices on their premises to install a
13 measurement device within the picture for the purpose of
14 describing a criminal's height and size, as a tool of
15 identification, apprehension, and prosecution; and be it
16 further
17 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
18 delivered to Attorney General Jim Ryan and State Police
19 Director Terry Gainer.
