1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The highest award the National Council of the
3 Boy Scouts of America can bestow upon a Scout is that of
4 Eagle Scout; and
5 WHEREAS, Scott M. Oomans of Boy Scout Troop 935, in
6 Chicago, Illinois, will receive the Eagle Scout Award at a
7 Court of Honor to be held on April 27, 1977; and
8 WHEREAS, Scott M. Oomans is the son of Don and Rita
9 Oomans, and is one of seventeen children; Scott's proud
10 Scoutmaster is Gary Anderson; and
11 WHEREAS, In order to qualify as an Eagle Scout, a young
12 man must demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, a
13 willingness to be of help to others, and superior skills in
14 camping, lifesaving, and first aid; and
15 WHEREAS, In earning this high rank, Scott M. Oomans joins
16 an elite and honorable fraternity of achievers that counts
17 among its members an extraordinary number of this nation's
18 great leaders in business, government, education, and other
19 sectors of society; and
20 WHEREAS, The achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout
21 reflects favorably upon the recipient, his justly proud
22 family, his Scoutmaster, and his fellow scouts; therefore, be
23 it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
26 join his family and friends in congratulating Scott M. Oomans
27 upon attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and commend
28 him upon the unswerving dedication to excellence that is the
29 hallmark of the Eagle Scout; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

1 presented to Eagle Scout Scott M. Oomans as an expression of
2 our respect and esteem.
