1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The city of Centralia, Illinois honors many of
3 its citizens with induction into the Centralia Hall of Fame;
4 and
5 WHEREAS, Dr. John A. Stedelin was born in Centralia,
6 Illinois on January 27, 1923; his parents were John L. and
7 Mary Stedelin; on June 28, 1948 he married Dorothy Beardslee
8 in Fravenne City, Michigan; he is the proud father of Jan
9 Doolin, Mary Jones, John, Mark, Jim, Patrick, Andrew, and
10 Matthew; Dr. Stedelin is also the grandfather of eighteen
11 wonderful grandchildren; and
12 WHEREAS, Dr. Stedelin did his premed studies at the
13 University of Illinois and the University of Michigan Medical
14 School; he performed his intern service at Robert Packer
15 Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania, and his pediatric training
16 at the University of Michigan; and
17 WHEREAS, Dr. Stedelin has worked with the Crippled
18 Children's Clinic in Marquette, Michigan, and the Crippled
19 Children of Illinois Murray Children's Home, where he served
20 as Medical Director; from 1953 to the present day, Dr.
21 Stedelin has been self employed in Centralia; and
22 WHEREAS, Dr. John Stedelin served in the United States
23 Navy; he is a member of the Presbyterian Church, where he
24 serves as an elder; he is a member of the Chamber of
25 Commerce, the Director of the Old National Bank and
26 Mercantile, and he has been honored as a fifty-year member of
27 the Illinois State Medical Society; therefore, be it
28 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
29 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
30 salute Dr. John Stedelin on his induction into the Centralia
31 Hall of Fame; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to Dr. John Stedelin.
