1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are happy to recognize
3 the excellence of young athletes and wish to congratulate the
4 Granite City High School wrestling team for winning the
5 Cahokia Class AA Regional Team Tournament; and
6 WHEREAS, The Granite City High School Warriors also took
7 win number 1,000 in their dual match on Tuesday, February 10,
8 1998, the first team in the nation to achieve this
9 magnificent feat; and
10 WHEREAS, The Warriors have a 22-0 record this year; and
11 WHEREAS, Coach Mike Garland as well as the faculty,
12 students, and parents of Granite City High School, share in
13 this victory in that they have provided the instruction,
14 inspiration, and support that contributed to this victory;
15 therefore, be it
16 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
17 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
18 congratulate the Granite City High School Warriors on winning
19 the Class AA Regional Team Tournament and taking 1,000 dual
20 matches; and be it further
21 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22 presented to Coach Mike Garland.
