1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate Sarah Sillins of
4 Evanston, Illinois, on receiving the 1998 Prudential Spirit
5 of Community Award; and
6 WHEREAS, Sarah Sillins, an esteemed resident of Evanston,
7 Illinois, and a student at Evanston Township High School, has
8 received national recognition for exemplary volunteer
9 services by receiving a 1998 Prudential Spirit of Community
10 Award; and
11 WHEREAS, Ms. Sillins earned this award by giving
12 generously of her time and energy to the Evanston community
13 through her efforts, including the creation of FIRST STEP,
14 Evanston Students Together Against Violence; and
15 WHEREAS, The success of the State of Illinois, the
16 strength of our communities, and the overall vitality of
17 American society depends in great measure upon the dedication
18 of young people like Ms. Sillins who use their considerable
19 talents and resources to serve others; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
22 hereby congratulate and honor Sarah Sillins as a recipient of
23 a Prudential Spirit of Community Award; we recognize her
24 outstanding record of volunteer service, peer leadership, and
25 community spirit, and we extend our best wishes for her
26 continued success and happiness in the future; and be it
27 further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to Sarah Sillins.
