1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate the O'Donnell family and
4 the Riviera Country Club in Orland Park, Illinois on a job
5 well done; and
6 WHEREAS, On February 6, 1998 the 10th Annual Valentine's
7 Ball was held at the Riviera Country Club; over $41,000 was
8 raised to aid in the fight against cancer; in the last ten
9 years over $300,000 has been raised; and
10 WHEREAS, This year Hope Children's Hospital was the
11 recipient of funds from the Valentine's Ball; the hospital
12 will use the funds from the Ball in addition to their own
13 funds to start a Peripheral Stem Cell Transplantation program
14 for their Oncology department; Peripheral Stem Cell
15 Transplantation is one of the newest and most promising
16 treatments offered in the fight against cancer; and
17 WHEREAS, Because of the efforts of the Riviera Country
18 Club and the O'Donnell family the successful conclusion of
19 the fight against cancer is closer today; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
22 thank the Riviera Country Club and the O'Donnell family for
23 their hard work and faithfulness in helping in the fight
24 against cancer; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to the Riviera Country Club and the O'Donnell
27 family.
