1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, This Body is extremely grateful and proud of
3 those citizens who assume great personal risk to save the
4 lives of other citizens; and
5 WHEREAS, Police Officers John Kohles and Edward Farley
6 were presented the Lambert Tree Award for their roles in a
7 shootout with a man hoarding a vast arsenal of weapons; and
8 WHEREAS, On September 24, 1996, Chicago Police Officers
9 John Kohles and Edward Farley, without hesitation, braved
10 life-threatening gunfire until the perpetrator was fatally
11 shot during a running gun battle; and
12 WHEREAS, Without doubt, Officers Kohles and Farley can
13 truly be called heroes, for they took great personal risk
14 without question or concern for their own safety; therefore,
15 be it
16 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
17 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
18 offer our most sincere appreciation to Officer John Kohles
19 and Officer Edward Farley for their heroic efforts; and be it
20 further
21 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
22 presented to Officer John Kohles and Officer Edward Farley.
