New Act
Creates the Assisted Living Act. Provides that the
Department of Human Services shall operate a Dignity Program
which shall provide supported employment opportunities for
the developmentally disabled, employment opportunities for
those leaving welfare programs, and home services for the
elderly, temporarily disabled, and those on permanent
disability. Creates short title and purpose provisions only.

1 AN ACT regarding assisted living.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5 Assisted Living Act.
6 Section 5. Purpose. The Department of Human Services
7 shall establish the "Dignity Program" to provide: supported
8 employment opportunities for the developmentally disabled;
9 employment opportunities for those leaving welfare programs;
10 and home services for the elderly, temporarily disabled, and
11 those on permanent disability.
