1 AN ACT to amend the Election Code by changing Section
2 9-8.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing
6 Section 9-8 as follows:
7 (10 ILCS 5/9-8) (from Ch. 46, par. 9-8)
8 Sec. 9-8. Soliciting, receiving contributions or making
9 expenditures without authority of candidate. Any political
10 committee which solicits or receives contributions or makes
11 expenditures on behalf of any candidate that is not
12 authorized in writing by such candidate to do so shall
13 include a notice on the face or front page of all literature
14 and advertisements published and following all commercials
15 broadcast, in connection with such candidate's campaign by
16 such committee or on its behalf stating that the committee is
17 not authorized by such candidate and that such candidate is
18 not responsible for the activities of such committee.
