 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION
 2        WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are  saddened
 3    to  learn  of  the  death  of Virgil Belangee of Taylorville,
 4    Illinois; and
 5        WHEREAS, Mr. Belangee was born in Potomac on January  20,
 6    1921;  his parents were Everett and Mayme Staten Belangee; on
 7    November 20,  1965  he  married  Marilyn  P.  Bell-Peters  in
 8    Taylorville; and
 9        WHEREAS,  Virgil  Belangee served in the South Pacific in
10    Saipan during World War II; he retired as an inspector of the
11    Purchasing Department  within  the  State  of  Illinois;  Mr.
12    Belangee  was  currently serving as an alderman for Ward 3 in
13    Taylorville; and
14        WHEREAS, Virgil Belangee  was  a  member  of:  the  First
15    United Methodist Church in Taylorville; Mound Lodge #122 A.F.
16    &  A.M., Taylorville; Ansar Shrine & Consistory, Springfield;
17    V.F.W. Post  4495,  Taylorville;  and  the  Christian  County
18    Shrine  Club;  he was a former member of the Christian County
19    Housing Authority for five years, and  the  Taylorville  Park
20    District  for  nine  years  where  he was instrumental in the
21    building of the Manner's Park Pool; Mr.  Belangee  served  as
22    past  president of the Taylorville School Board; Mr. Belangee
23    was also active in boy's baseball; in 1996 Mr.  Belangee  was
24    named  the  Taylorville Chamber of Commerce's "Citizen of the
25    Year"; and
26        WHEREAS, Virgil Belangee is survived by his wife, Marilyn
27    Belangee; his son, David Belangee and his wife, Paulette; his
28    daughter, Ruth  Ann  Miller  and  husband,  Leslie;  his  two
29    stepsons,  Mark  Peters  and  his  wife,  Sharon, and Bradley
30    Peters and his wife, Bridgett; his eight  grandchildren;  his
31    two  brothers,  Elvis  Belangee and Charles Belangee; and his
32    sister, Elsie Solander; therefore, be it

 1        RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
 2    OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS,  that  we  mourn,  along  with  his
 3    family  and  friends,  the  death  of  Virgil  W. Belangee of
 4    Taylorville,  Illinois;  truly  the  people  who  reside   in
 5    Taylorville  have  lost a valued part of their community; and
 6    be it further
 7        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 8    presented to the family of Virgil Belangee.
