(BUTLER)

   60 ILCS 1/15-10                                                             

        Amends the Township  Code  to  provide  that  when  territory  is      
   disconnected  from  a  city  that  is coterminous with a township, the      
   territory shall be automatically  disconnected  from  the  coterminous      
   township and shall be automatically connected to the adjacent township      
   (now  by county board resolution).  Deletes disconnection restrictions      
   on the size of  the  territory  and  the  number  of  the  territory's      
   inhabitants.

        Deletes everything. Amends the  Township  Code  to  provide  that      
   after  the  effective  date  of  the  provisions,  when  territory  is      
   disconnected  by  court  order  or  ordinance  (now  by  county  board      
   resolution)  from  a  city  that  is  coterminous with a township, the      
   territory shall be automatically  disconnected  from  the  coterminous      
   township   and  shall  be  automatically  connected  to  the  adjacent      
   township. Provides that if the court orders  disconnection,  then  the      
   petitioner  shall  notify  the  affected  units  of  local government.      
   Provides that if an objection is  filed  within  180  days  after  the      
   ordinance is adopted or after service of the court order, then after a      
   public  hearing  the  county  board may pass an ordinance to annul the      
   automatic disconnection.
