CROSS.

   815 ILCS 505/1            from Ch. 121 1/2, par. 261                        

        Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business  Practices  Act.      
   Makes a stylistic change in provisions concerning definitions.              
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          815 ILCS 505/1                                                       
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          705 ILCS 205/1                  from Ch. 13, par. 1                  
          815 ILCS 505/2C.5 new                                                
        Deletes everything. Amends  the  Attorney  Act.   Authorizes  the      
   Attorney  General or a State's Attorney to bring any civil or criminal      
   action necessary to prevent or punish a violation of the Act.  Makes a      
   first violation of the Act a Class  A  misdemeanor  and  a  second  or      
   subsequent  violation a Class 4 felony.  Amends the Consumer Fraud and      
   Deceptive Business Practices Act.  Makes practice  of  law  without  a      
   license  an unlawful practice.  Authorizes various forms of relief for      
   a violation, including imposition of a civil  penalty  not  to  exceed      
   $50,000.
