Short description: 
VEH CD-VEH-SNOWMOBILE-LEVEES                                               

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code and the Snowmobile  Registration      
   and  Safety  Act  by  providing  that  operation of a motor vehicle or      
   snowmobile on a levee, except for levee roadways designed specifically      
   for vehicular traffic, shall be unlawful.  Provides that violation  of      
   these  provisions is a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of at      
   least $250 in addition to any other penalty that may be imposed.            
          CORRECTIONAL NOTE (Ill. State Police)                                
          There will be no impact on the Ill. Dept. of Corrections.            
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
        Provides that the prohibition on driving  on  a  levee  does  not      
   apply  to  a person driving a motor vehicle or snowmobile used for the      
   inspection, maintenance, or repair of a levee.                              
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2.                                                 
        Provides that is is unlawful for a person to drive or  operate  a      
   snowmobile  on  a  levee  only  if  the  person  does not have written      
   permission from the levee district manager.
