Senate Sponsors: BOMKE Short description: STATE INS-COMM COLLEGE RETIREE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971 to change the definition of "retired employee" to include retired employees of public community colleges who are 65 years of age or older and are receiving a retirement annuity or disability benefits under the Pension Code. Effective July 1, 1998. FISCAL NOTE (DCMS) Cost is expected to increase by approximately $9 million, which amount is not currently contained in the group insurance bud- get. Total program cost over 10 years is expected to be approx. $159 million.
