Short description: POST-MASTECTOMY-DR CONSULT Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Insurance Code to prohibit requiring mastectomies to be done on an outpatient basis unless authorized by the treating physician. Makes the requirements applicable to coverages under the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971, the Health Maintenance Organization Act, and the Voluntary Health Services Plans Act. Effective June 1, 1997. FISCAL NOTE (Dept. of Insurance) HB 2074 will have no fiscal impact on the Dept.
