Short description: 
WAGE PAYMENT-PROHIBIT CURRENCY                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Wage Payment and  Collection  Act.  Provides  that  an      
   employer  to  whom  this Act applies must pay an employee's net pay to      
   the employee in the form of a check  or  other  negotiable  instrument      
   made  payable  to the employee or by direct deposit into an employee's      
   account in a financial institution. Provides that no employer may  pay      
   an  employee's  net  pay  to  the  employee  in  the form of currency.      
   Provides that violation is a Class A misdemeanor.  Exempts payments to      
   workers who receive pay each day they work and payments to an employee      
   whose weekly net pay is less than $100.

          No fiscal impact will be incurred by the Department.                 
          STATE DEBT IMPACT NOTE                                               
          HB2269 would not impact the level of State debt.                     
          STATE MANDATES FISCAL NOTE                                           
          HB 2269 fails to meet the definition of a State mandate.             
          PENSION NOTE                                                         
          HB2269 would not have a fiscal impact on any public retirement       
          system or pension fund subject to the Illinois Pension Code.
