CRIM CD-POLICE NO GANG ACTIVIT                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal Code of 1961.  Makes it unlawful for a  peace      
   officer  or  correctional  officer  to  knowingly  commit  an  act  in      
   furtherance   of   gang-related  activities,  except  when  acting  in      
   furtherance of an undercover law enforcement investigation. Penalty is      
   a Class 3 felony.

          There will be minimal fiscal and corrections population impact.      
          CORRECTIONAL NOTE                                                    
          No change from DOC fiscal note.                                      
          JUDICIAL NOTE                                                        
          It is impossible to determine what impact the bill will have on      
          the need to increase the number of judges in the State.              
          STATE MANDATES FISCAL NOTE
