Provides that the county board or the board of county commissioners may make provisions for the gradual elimination of uses, buildings, and structures that are incompatible with the character of the districts in which they are made or located. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes the amendatory provision authorizing the gradual elimination of buildings and structures when they have reached the age fixed as their normal useful life. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Counties Code. Provides that the county board or the board of county commissioners may make provisions for the gradual elimination of uses of unimproved lands or lot areas when the existing rights of possession are terminated or the current use is discontinued or for the gradual elimination of uses to which buildings and structures are devoted if adaptable to permitted uses or damaged in major part. Provides that the authority to eliminate uses, buildings, and structures shall not be exercised with respect to land used for agricultural purposes or with respect to a public utility.
