House Sponsors: BRUNSVOLD. Short description: VEH CD-REPLACE LICENSE PLATES Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code and the State Finance Act. Provides that, for certain vehicle registration and renewal fees, 75 cents of the fee shall be deposited into the Secretary of State Registration Plate Replacement Fund, a new special fund. Provides that moneys in the Fund shall be used to replace license plates. Provides that Road Fund moneys may be used for the cost of replacing license plates. Sets a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $500 for operating a vehicle with an expired registration. Makes other changes. Effective immediately.
