House Sponsors: CAPPARELLI. Short description: PEN CD-CHGO FIRE-ANNUAL INCR Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Chicago Firefighter Article of the Pension Code. For certain firemen with at least 30 years of service credit who withdraw from service on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act, accelerates the automatic annual increase, increases it to 3%, and removes the 30% maximum. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement. Effective immediately. PENSION NOTE Estimated increase in total annual cost is $2.0 million, 0.87% of payroll; annual cost will increase as payroll grows.
