PEN CD-DNST POL-RETIREMENT AGE                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Downstate Police Article of the Pension Code.   Lowers      
   the  minimum  retirement  age  from  60  to 55 for certain persons who      
   retire with more than 8 but fewer than 20 years  of  service.   Amends      
   the   State   Mandates   Act   to   require   implementation   without      
   reimbursement.  Effective immediately.                                      
          PENSION NOTE                                                         
          The increase in total annual cost is estimated to be $2.3            
          million, or 0.47% of payroll.
