CRIM CD-ENDANGERING CHILD                                                  

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal Code of 1961,  relating  to  the  offense  of      
   endangering the life or health of a child.  Makes endangering the life      
   of  a  child  is  a  Class  3 felony for a first offense and a Class 2      
   felony for a second or subsequent  offense.  If  death  of  the  child      
   results,  it  is  a Class X felony.  Makes endangering the health of a      
   child is a Class A misdemeanor for a  first  offense  and  a  Class  3      
   felony  for  a  second  or subsequent offense (now the current law for      
   endangering either the life or health of the child).
