GEO-KARIS-PARKER.

(LINDNER-HAMOS-DELGADO)

   20 ILCS 505/5c                                                              

        Amends the Children and Family Services Act.  Makes  a  stylistic      
   change  in the Section regarding direct child welfare service employee      
   licenses.                                                                   
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
        Provides that persons employed by DCFS or its contractors  as  of      
   the effective date of the amendatory Act have until January 1, 2003 to      
   obtain the necessary child welfare service employee license, scheduled      
   to be required on January 1, 2000.  Provides that the Department shall      
   develop  a  plan  to  ensure  that  its  employees  have the skill and      
   knowledge  necessary  to  obtain  a  license.    Provides   that   the      
   Department,  after  a  hearing, may revoke the license of anyone found      
   guilty of misfeasance.  Provides that the Department shall adopt rules      
   to implement the new provision. Effective immediately.
