Short description: 
IGNITION INTERLOCK DEVICE                                                  

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends  the  Illinois  Vehicle  Code  and  the  Unified  Code  of      
   Corrections.  Authorizes and under certain circumstances requires  the      
   court  or  the  Secretary  of State to prohibit a person whose driving      
   privileges are revoked or suspended following a violation of a driving      
   under the influence offense from operating a motor vehicle  unless  it      
   is equipped with an ignition interlock device.  Provides penalties for      
   violation.  Requires the Secretary of State to establish standards for      
   certifying  ignition  interlock  devices.   Provides  for  hearings to      
   determine a person's ability  to  pay  for  the  installation  of  the      
   device.
