Short description: 
DOMEST BATTERY-PENALTY-DISCLOS                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal Code of 1961.  Provides that domestic battery      
   is a Class 4 felony if the defendant has any prior  conviction  for  a      
   felony that involved the use of force for violence against a family or      
   household  member.   Amends  the  Code  of Civil Procedure.  Permits a      
   physician to disclose information about a patient that  the  physician      
   receives  from  the  patient  during  treatment  in  a prosecution for      
   domestic battery if the disclosure relates directly to  the  facts  or      
   circumstances regarding the domestic battery.  Effective immediately.

          There will be an estimated 9 inmates added to the corrections        
          population at a cost of $2,111,300 over the first 10 years from      
          the date of enactment.
