DFI STDY PAYDAY LOAN PRACTICES                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Financial Institutions Code.  Requires the  Department      
   of  Financial Institutions to study payday loan practices with respect      
   to charges imposed, borrower profiles,  and  problems  resulting  from      
   those  practices.   Requires the Department to report its findings and      
   recommendations  to  the  General  Assembly  by  September  15,  1999.      
   Effective immediately.
