Short description:
PROBATE-WILL-DEVELOPMENTAL DIS

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Probate Act of 1975. Provides that a court, upon
   petition by a guardian of the estate of a minor with a developmental
   disability, may permit the guardian to make a will or create a
   revocable or irrevocable trust for the minor that the court considers
   advisable in light of changes in applicable tax laws that allow for
   minimization of State or federal income, estate, or inheritance taxes;
   however, the will or trust may not change distributions that would
   have been made if the child were to die intestate.
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.
        Provides that the petition may be made by the guardian of the
   estate of any minor (instead of only a minor with a developmental
   disability).
