1 AN ACT concerning nursing homes.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Nursing Home Care Act is amended by
5 adding Section 3-206.04 as follows:
6 (210 ILCS 45/3-206.04 new)
7 Sec. 3-206.04. Certified Nurse Assistant Career Ladders
8 Program. The Department shall develop a Certified Nurse
9 Assistant Career Ladders Program. As a part of this program,
10 the Department shall prescribe a curriculum for 3 levels of
11 advanced nurse assistant training. The Department shall
12 create a task force to develop a curriculum necessary to
13 reach each level of advanced Certified Nurse Assistant.
14 Members of the task force shall include members of the
15 Illinois community college community, members of the Illinois
16 nursing home community, and representatives of the
17 Department. The curriculum for the Certified Nurse Assistant
18 Career Ladders Program developed by the task force must be
19 structured such that completed courses will be recognized as
20 course equivalents by licensed practical nurse and registered
21 nurse programs in Illinois. The task force shall report its
22 findings and recommendations to the General Assembly on or
23 before January 1, 2002.
24 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
25 becoming law.
