 6        WHEREAS, The State  Board  of  Education  has  filed  its
 7    Report  on  Waiver  of  School Code Mandates, dated April 30,
 8    2001, with the Senate, the House of Representatives, and  the
 9    Secretary of State of Illinois as required by Section 2-3.25g
10    of the School Code; and

11        WHEREAS, We are disapproving school district requests for
12    waivers  relating  to  substitute certificates because Senate
13    Bill  1293  and  House  Bill  2425   relate   to   substitute
14    certificates  and  have  passed  both  houses of this General
15    Assembly; and

16        WHEREAS, Many members of the General  Assembly  recognize
17    the  need  to  re-evaluate  the  State's  student  assessment
18    programs and the Senate will be conducting hearings regarding
19    this   subject  in  the  next  few  months,  it  is  strongly
20    encouraged that the waiver request  regarding  Assessments  -
21    Prairie  State  Achievement  Examination  be re-submitted for
22    consideration in the Fall 2001 waiver request; therefore,  be
23    it

24        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
25    ASSEMBLY  OF  THE   STATE   OF   ILLINOIS,   THE   HOUSE   OF
26    REPRESENTATIVES  CONCURRING  HEREIN,  that each of the school
27    district waiver requests identified below by school  district
28    name  and  by  the identifying number and subject area of the
29    waiver request as summarized in the report filed by the State
30    Board of Education is disapproved:
