Biography: Full-time Legislator; born July 2, 1974, in Peoria, IL; B.A., Communications, Bradley University, Peoria, IL; was named East Peoria Distinguished Citizen of the Year by the East Peoria Chamber of Commerce; 2013 Legislator of the Year by the Illinois Insurance Association; 2012 Legislator of the Year by the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police; named a 2012 Edgar Fellow; awarded the 2012 Friend of Agriculture Award by the Illinois Farm Bureau; 2012 Illinois Electric Cooperatives’ Public Service Award; 2012 Champion of Free Enterprise by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, which also named him “Outstanding Freshman Legislator.”; and 2012 Guardian of Small Business Award by the National Federation of Independent Business/Illinois.
