| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to | ||||||
| 3 | congratulate Tamara Peterson on the occasion of her retirement | ||||||
| 4 | as a board member of the Bloomingdale School District 13 Board | ||||||
| 5 | of Education; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Tamara Peterson has served on the Bloomingdale | ||||||
| 7 | School District 13 Board since April 1, 2003; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Tamara Peterson has engaged in strategic planning | ||||||
| 9 | to identify district priorities, giving rise to a high number | ||||||
| 10 | of student achievements that were recognized locally and | ||||||
| 11 | nationally; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Tamara Peterson has spearheaded changes in | ||||||
| 13 | financial practices, leading the Bloomingdale School District | ||||||
| 14 | 13 Board to earn Certificates of Achievement (COAs) for | ||||||
| 15 | Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Association of School | ||||||
| 16 | Business Officials (ASBO) and the Government Finance Officers | ||||||
| 17 | Association (GFOA) for the past seven years; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Tamara Peterson has further served the | ||||||
| 19 | Bloomingdale School District 13 Board by readily accepting | ||||||
| 20 | additional leadership roles during her tenure, including | ||||||
| 21 | holding the position of board president for two terms; and | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | WHEREAS, Tamara Peterson, for the duration of her term, | ||||||
| 2 | has also supported the Bloomingdale CHARACTER COUNTS! | ||||||
| 3 | Coalition, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to | ||||||
| 4 | actively build and nurture trustworthiness, respect, | ||||||
| 5 | responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship throughout | ||||||
| 6 | the community; and | ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Tamara Peterson will conclude her service to the | ||||||
| 8 | Bloomingdale School District 13 Board on May 1, 2025; | ||||||
| 9 | therefore, be it | ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Tamara | ||||||
| 12 | Peterson on her retirement as a board member of the | ||||||
| 13 | Bloomingdale School District 13 Board of Education, and we | ||||||
| 14 | thank her for her service to the community and its students; | ||||||
| 15 | and be it further | ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 17 | presented to Tamara Peterson as an expression of our esteem | ||||||
| 18 | and respect. | ||||||
