| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to | ||||||
| 3 | congratulate Terry McKeown on the occasion of his retirement | ||||||
| 4 | as a board member of the Bloomingdale School District 13 Board | ||||||
| 5 | of Education; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Terry McKeown has served on the Bloomingdale | ||||||
| 7 | School District 13 Board since April 1, 2001; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Terry McKeown has engaged in strategic planning | ||||||
| 9 | to identify district priorities, giving rise to a high number | ||||||
| 10 | of student achievements that were recognized locally and | ||||||
| 11 | nationally; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Terry McKeown has spearheaded changes in | ||||||
| 13 | financial practices, leading the Bloomingdale School District | ||||||
| 14 | 13 Board to earn Certificates of Achievement (COAs) for | ||||||
| 15 | Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Association of School | ||||||
| 16 | Business Officials (ASBO) and the Government Finance Officers | ||||||
| 17 | Association (GFOA) for the past seven years; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Terry McKeown has further served the Bloomingdale | ||||||
| 19 | School District 13 Board by readily accepting additional | ||||||
| 20 | leadership roles during his tenure, including holding the | ||||||
| 21 | position of board president for two terms; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Terry McKeown, for the duration of his term, has | ||||||
| 2 | also supported the Bloomingdale CHARACTER COUNTS! Coalition, a | ||||||
| 3 | not-for-profit organization whose mission is to actively build | ||||||
| 4 | and nurture trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, | ||||||
| 5 | fairness, caring, and citizenship throughout the community; | ||||||
| 6 | and | ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Terry McKeown will conclude his service to the | ||||||
| 8 | Bloomingdale School District 13 Board on May 1, 2025; | ||||||
| 9 | therefore, be it | ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Terry | ||||||
| 12 | McKeown on his retirement as a board member of the | ||||||
| 13 | Bloomingdale School District 13 Board of Education, and we | ||||||
| 14 | thank him for his service to the community and its students; | ||||||
| 15 | and be it further | ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 17 | presented to Terry McKeown as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
| 18 | respect. | ||||||
