| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Linda Renee Olivero of Springfield, | ||||||
| 4 | who passed away on February 2, 2025; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Linda Olivero, the daughter of John and Lorraine | ||||||
| 6 | Olivero, was born in Peru on May 22, 1962; she graduated from | ||||||
| 7 | LaSalle-Peru Township High School in 1980, where she served as | ||||||
| 8 | class president; she received degrees in both accounting and | ||||||
| 9 | law from the University of Illinois; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Linda Olivero worked as a Certified Public | ||||||
| 11 | Accountant (CPA) and a lawyer; during her career, she clerked | ||||||
| 12 | for a federal district judge in southern Illinois, served as | ||||||
| 13 | an attorney for the Illinois Supreme Court, and served as an | ||||||
| 14 | administrative law judge for the Illinois Department of | ||||||
| 15 | Revenue for decades; she was known for her brilliant legal | ||||||
| 16 | mind and unwavering integrity; and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Linda Olivero volunteered for the Make-A-Wish | ||||||
| 18 | Foundation for more than 30 years and as a Big Sister for young | ||||||
| 19 | girls in the Big Sister Little Sister mentoring program; she | ||||||
| 20 | also dedicated herself to helping disabled adults at the | ||||||
| 21 | Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Linda Olivero enjoyed traveling, hiking, and | ||||||
| 2 | spending time in nature; she was an avid University of | ||||||
| 3 | Illinois Fighting Illini fan; and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Linda Olivero was kind, caring, honest, and | ||||||
| 5 | selfless; she lived with grace, humility, and a deep sense of | ||||||
| 6 | compassion, leaving the world brighter for everyone who had | ||||||
| 7 | the privilege of knowing her; she adored her family, caring | ||||||
| 8 | for them with unwavering devotion and always offering a | ||||||
| 9 | listening ear, wise advice, and unconditional love; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Linda Olivero was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 11 | parents and her sister, Lana Elder; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Linda Olivero is survived by her siblings, John | ||||||
| 13 | Paul Olivero, Lisa Olivero, Laurie (Steve) Landsman, Mark | ||||||
| 14 | Olivero, Tom (Wendy) Olivero, Lucy (Gordon) Olivero, and Luke | ||||||
| 15 | (Jeanna) Olivero; her uncle, Carlo Olivero; 15 nieces and | ||||||
| 16 | nephews; one grandniece; and 27 cousins; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 18 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 19 | Linda Renee Olivero and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
| 20 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
| 21 | further | ||||||

| 1 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 2 | presented to the family of Linda Olivero as an expression of | ||||||
| 3 | our deepest sympathy. | ||||||
