| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the St. Jude Catholic | ||||||
| 4 | School 8th grade boys basketball team on winning the 2024-2025 | ||||||
| 5 | Class 8-1A Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) State | ||||||
| 6 | Championship; and | ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, St. Jude won the championship in Warrensburg on | ||||||
| 8 | February 20, 2025; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The IESA hosts 19 state final events each year, | ||||||
| 10 | representing over 500,000 student-athletes participating in | ||||||
| 11 | activities across Illinois; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, The members of the St. Jude Catholic School 8th | ||||||
| 13 | grade boys basketball team are Eamon Lynch, John Alvino, | ||||||
| 14 | Damian Delgado, Paxton Strader, Ezra Strickler, Dylan Crank, | ||||||
| 15 | Jack Westerberg, Drew Khoury, and Brady Miller; and | ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, St. Jude is led by Head Coach Jim Lynch and | ||||||
| 17 | Assistant Coach Caleb Strader, Assistant Coach Ryan Miller, | ||||||
| 18 | and Assistant Coach John Strickler; and | ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Winning a state championship in Illinois | ||||||
| 20 | showcases the dedication and commitment that a team must | ||||||

| 1 | exhibit to reach such a high level of success; and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Every team begins the season with the objective | ||||||
| 3 | of winning a state championship, and St. Jude has achieved | ||||||
| 4 | that goal; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 6 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 7 | we congratulate the St. Jude Catholic School 8th grade boys | ||||||
| 8 | basketball team on winning the 2024-2025 Class 8-1A Illinois | ||||||
| 9 | Elementary School Association State Championship; and be it | ||||||
| 10 | further | ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
| 12 | presented to the St. Jude players and coaches as a symbol of | ||||||
| 13 | our respect and esteem. | ||||||
