SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Gerald M. Borries of Teutopolis, who 
4passed away on December 25, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gerald Borries, the son of Joseph E. "Specs" and 
6Harriet C. "Sis" (Pruemer) Borries, was born in Teutopolis on 
7July 7, 1949; he married Mary L. Roberts on July 6, 1985; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Gerald Borries worked on his family's farm, in 
9the seed corn business, and on tractors; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Gerald Borries was a member of St. Francis of 
11Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis and the St. Francis Men's 
12Sodality; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Gerald Borries enjoyed collecting tractors, and 
14he was a strong supporter of the right-to-life movement and 
15President Donald J. Trump; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Gerald Borries was preceded in death by his 
17parents; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Gerald Borries is survived by his wife of 39 
19years, Mary; his daughter, Lisa (Josh) Hutson; two

1grandchildren; his brothers, Thomas and Leonard; his uncle, 
2Gerald Pruemer; and his special cousin, Tanner Pruemer; 
3therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Gerald M. Borries and extend our sincere condolences to his 
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Gerald Borries as an expression of 
11our deepest sympathy.
