| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Terry L. | ||||||
| 4 | Widman of Jerseyville, who passed away on February 27, 2025; | ||||||
| 5 | and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Terry Widman, the son of the late Fred E. and Ruth | ||||||
| 7 | M. Widman, was born in Jerseyville on September 14, 1959; he | ||||||
| 8 | was a lifelong resident of Jersey County; he graduated from | ||||||
| 9 | Jersey Community High School in 1977, and he attended Quincy | ||||||
| 10 | Technical College; he married LaNae Hessel at Alton First | ||||||
| 11 | Southern Baptist Church on September 22, 1979; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Terry Widman worked alongside his father in the | ||||||
| 13 | family business, Widman Construction; he started out greasing | ||||||
| 14 | and dispatching trucks before driving trucks and operating | ||||||
| 15 | equipment, eventually leading the company as its | ||||||
| 16 | second-generation president; and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Terry Widman enjoyed playing baseball and | ||||||
| 18 | softball in his younger years; he found joy in life's simple | ||||||
| 19 | pleasures, such as watching the St. Louis Blues and the St. | ||||||
| 20 | Louis Cardinals, taking in nature's beauty while spending time | ||||||
| 21 | outdoors, and coaching his three children; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Terry Widman was a devoted husband, father, and | ||||||
| 2 | grandfather; he will be remembered for his faith being central | ||||||
| 3 | to his character and present in everything he accomplished; | ||||||
| 4 | and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Terry Widman is survived by his wife of 45 years, | ||||||
| 6 | LaNae; his children, Travis (Kim) Widman, Daniel (Joanna) | ||||||
| 7 | Widman, and Meaghan (Parker) Blackorby; his grandchildren, | ||||||
| 8 | Mason, Abigail, Hana, and Harrison Widman; his siblings, Sandy | ||||||
| 9 | (Collin) Meyer, Kathy Lewis, and Keith Widman; his | ||||||
| 10 | sister-in-law, Karen Widman; his stepmother, Linda Widman; his | ||||||
| 11 | brothers, John (Barb) Hessel, James (Denise) Hessel, and Rolla | ||||||
| 12 | (Debbie) Hessel; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; | ||||||
| 13 | therefore, be it | ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 15 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 16 | we mourn the passing of Terry L. Widman and extend our sincere | ||||||
| 17 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
| 18 | him; and be it further | ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to the family of Terry Widman as an expression of our | ||||||
| 21 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
