| 1 | | AN ACT concerning education.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections |
| 5 | | 10-20.88 and 34-18.88 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (105 ILCS 5/10-20.88 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 10-20.88. Selective admissions; standardized testing. |
| 8 | | A school board in a school district with 275,000 students or |
| 9 | | more shall prohibit any school of the district that has |
| 10 | | selective admission requirements from requiring a student in a |
| 11 | | pre-kindergarten program of the district to take a |
| 12 | | standardized test in order to be admitted to that school.
