| 1 | AN ACT concerning civil law. | |||||||||||||||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | |||||||||||||||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly: | |||||||||||||||||||
| 4 | Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the | |||||||||||||||||||
| 5 | Civilian Enforced No-Fly Zone Act. | |||||||||||||||||||
| 6 | Section 5. Definitions. As used in this Act: | |||||||||||||||||||
| 7 | "Private property" means land or structures owned by | |||||||||||||||||||
| 8 | individuals, including residential, agricultural, and | |||||||||||||||||||
| 9 | commercial properties. | |||||||||||||||||||
| 10 | "Unmanned aerial vehicle" means any aircraft that is | |||||||||||||||||||
| 11 | operated without the possibility of direct human intervention | |||||||||||||||||||
| 12 | from within or on the aircraft. | |||||||||||||||||||
| 13 | Section 10. Authority to defend private property. An | |||||||||||||||||||
| 14 | individual who owns or lawfully occupies private property in | |||||||||||||||||||
| 15 | the State is authorized to disable or destroy an unmanned | |||||||||||||||||||
| 16 | aerial vehicle that is operating over the individual's | |||||||||||||||||||
| 17 | property at an altitude of less than 400 feet without the | |||||||||||||||||||
| 18 | individual's permission. | |||||||||||||||||||
| 19 | Section 15. Legal Protections. No individual may be | |||||||||||||||||||
| 20 | subjected to civil or criminal liability for disabling or | |||||||||||||||||||
| 21 | destroying an unmanned aerial vehicle in accordance with this | |||||||||||||||||||

| 1 | Act. This Act does not protect individuals who intentionally | ||||||
| 2 | cause harm to persons or property in the process of disabling | ||||||
| 3 | or destroying an unmanned aerial vehicle. | ||||||
