| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Donald Edward "Don" Beetler of Altona, | ||||||
| 4 | who passed away on March 10, 2025; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Don Beetler was born to Fred Beetler and Louise | ||||||
| 6 | Learned Beetler in Glasford on May 9, 1927; he was raised in | ||||||
| 7 | Yates City and graduated from Elmwood High School; he served | ||||||
| 8 | in the Guard Company Headquarters and Battalion, 7th Service | ||||||
| 9 | Regiment, First Marine Division of the U.S. Marine Corps from | ||||||
| 10 | 1945 to 1946, where he was stationed in Tientsin, now Tianjin, | ||||||
| 11 | China; he married Mary Frances Brown at Ontario Congregational | ||||||
| 12 | Church in Oneida on June 26, 1949, and they were married for 67 | ||||||
| 13 | years until she preceded him in death in 2017; and | ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Don Beetler worked for Caterpillar, Inc. and Auto | ||||||
| 15 | Sales Company in Brimfield before farming near Victoria, | ||||||
| 16 | Oneida, and Altona for 45 years; and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Don Beetler was quietly generous and very | ||||||
| 18 | hardworking; he will be remembered for his sense of humor and | ||||||
| 19 | his strong love for and devotion to his family; and | ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Don Beetler was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
| 21 | his brothers, Harold, Robert, and J. Holland Beetler; his | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | sisters, Rena Beetler, Ruth Broadfield, and Lois Mayer; one | ||||||
| 2 | great-granddaughter; and his daughter-in-law, Deborah Beetler; | ||||||
| 3 | and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Don Beetler is survived by his children, Dianne | ||||||
| 5 | Beetler, Linda (LaMar) Bell, David Beetler, and Kathleen | ||||||
| 6 | (Henry) Gondeck; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; | ||||||
| 7 | and his sister, Barbara (Fred) Woldarski; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 10 | Donald Edward "Don" Beetler and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
| 11 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
| 12 | it further | ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 14 | presented to the family of Don Beetler as an expression of our | ||||||
| 15 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
