| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Pompeyo Florez on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his 100th birthday; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Pompeyo Florez was born in Pueblo, Colorado to | ||||||
| 6 | Tranquilino and Delphina Navarro Campos Florez on April 10, | ||||||
| 7 | 1925; he attended Creiger and Crane High Schools in Chicago; | ||||||
| 8 | he served in the U.S. Army as a private first class with the | ||||||
| 9 | military police from September of 1943 to February of 1946; he | ||||||
| 10 | married Violetta Marie Avon Castillo Florez at St. Francis | ||||||
| 11 | Church in Chicago on July 6, 1947; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Pompeyo Florez worked as a baker with the Nabisco | ||||||
| 13 | Company and as a bus driver for Reavis High School; and | ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Pompeyo Florez had a great passion for his wife, | ||||||
| 15 | Violetta; the two would dance in the evenings after dinner | ||||||
| 16 | with the children watching, often to their favorite songs, | ||||||
| 17 | which included "At Last" and "Misty"; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Pompeyo Florez enjoyed running, swimming, tennis, | ||||||
| 19 | racquetball, walking, and camping with his children; and | ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Pompeyo Florez is the father to Rory, Robin, | ||||||

| 1 | Derek, Scott, Michelle, Caprice, Allison, and Daria and the | ||||||
| 2 | brother to Cirilo Campos, Lawrence Campos, Salvador Campos, | ||||||
| 3 | Monica Campos, and Carmen Dale Florez; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 4 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 5 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 6 | we congratulate Pompeyo Florez on the occasion of his 100th | ||||||
| 7 | birthday, and we wish many more wonderful years; and be it | ||||||
| 8 | further | ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
