| 2 | | WHEREAS, It is imperative for the State of Illinois to |
| 3 | | recognize and honor the dedication, bravery, and sacrifice of |
| 4 | | individuals who commit themselves to protecting and serving |
| 5 | | our communities; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, These heroes, including first responders, law |
| 7 | | enforcement officers, firefighters, and other public safety |
| 8 | | personnel, place themselves in harm's way to protect lives, |
| 9 | | maintain order, and provide critical aid in times of need; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Their unwavering commitment, courage, and |
| 11 | | selfless service embodies the highest ideals of duty and |
| 12 | | sacrifice, earning the deepest respect, esteem, and gratitude |
| 13 | | of the people of Illinois; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, It is fitting to set aside a special day to |
| 15 | | recognize and express appreciation for these individuals who |
| 16 | | work tirelessly to ensure the safety, security, and well-being |
| 17 | | of our communities; therefore, be it

| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 19 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE |
| 20 | | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we declare August 27, 2025 as |
| 21 | | Hero Day in the State of Illinois to recognize, honor, and |
