| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to commend Vera Gaskill on her dedicated |
| 4 | | service as a member of the Aptakisic-Tripp Community |
| 5 | | Consolidated School District (CCSD) 102 Board of Education for |
| 6 | | the past five years; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Vera Gaskill served the Aptakisic-Tripp CCSD 102 |
| 8 | | Board of Education as secretary for two years and as a member |
| 9 | | of the Finance Committee; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Vera Gaskill worked alongside fellow board |
| 11 | | members and the school administration of Aptakisic-Tripp CCSD |
| 12 | | 102 to educate the community and provide input to successfully |
| 13 | | pass a facilities referendum and participated in the Learning |
| 14 | | Vision into Action (LVIA) strategic planning for the school |
| 15 | | district; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Vera Gaskill facilitated the transition of |
| 17 | | leadership roles within Aptakisic-Tripp CCSD 102, including |
| 18 | | superintendent, assistant superintendent, and chief school |
| 19 | | business official, and successfully negotiated a new |
| 20 | | collective bargaining agreement; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Vera Gaskill was noted for listening intently to |
|

| 1 | | presentations at the Aptakisic-Tripp CCSD 102 Board of |
| 2 | | Education meetings, asking pertinent questions, and providing |
| 3 | | meaningful comments and feedback; and

| 4 | | WHEREAS, Vera Gaskill wished the graduating eighth graders |
| 5 | | of Aptakisic-Tripp CCSD 102 well with inspirational, heartfelt |
| 6 | | words; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Vera Gaskill, as part of her duties to the |
| 8 | | Aptakisic-Tripp CCSD 102 Board of Education, annually attended |
| 9 | | the Triple I Conference in Chicago to advance her knowledge |
| 10 | | and to foster connections with other board members and |
| 11 | | administration; therefore, be it
|
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 13 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 14 | | we commend Vera Gaskill on her dedicated service as a member of |
| 15 | | the Aptakisic-Tripp Community Consolidated School District |
| 16 | | (CCSD) 102 Board of Education and express our gratitude for |
| 17 | | her valiant service as an elected public official; and be it |
| 18 | | further

| 19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 20 | | presented to Vera Gaskill as a symbol of our esteem and |
| 21 | | respect. |
