SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ray Edward "Bud" Bebout of Harrisburg, who passed away on January 26, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Ray Bebout was born in Pope County to Burl and Cora (Hicks) Bebout on August 8, 1938; he served his country honorably in the United States Army while stationed at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas; he married Mildred Gene Turnage on October 1, 1958; and

WHEREAS, Ray Bebout worked as a coal miner for the Sahara Coal Company and loved working on small engines; and

WHEREAS, Ray Bebout was a member of Ledford Baptist Church; he was an avid trap shooter and won numerous competitions; he also enjoyed hunting and fishing; he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle; and

WHEREAS, Ray Bebout was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; his parents; and ten siblings; and

WHEREAS, Ray Bebout is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Jim) Etienne; his grandchildren, Bridgette (Terry) Mott, Darian Etienne, and Kirstynn (A.J.) Mercado; his great-grandchildren, Addy and Avery Mott; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ray Edward "Bud" Bebout of Harrisburg and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ray Bebout of Harrisburg as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
