| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of William Bruce "Bill" West Sr. of Hanna |
| 4 | | City, who passed away on April 1, 2025; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bill West was born in Logan Township, Peoria |
| 6 | | County to George W. and Fama Jane (Donaldson) West on June 22, |
| 7 | | 1934; he graduated from Farmington High School and the |
| 8 | | University of Illinois, where he received his bachelor's |
| 9 | | degree in agriculture and was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho |
| 10 | | Fraternity; following college, he served in the United States |
| 11 | | Army and was stationed in Germany; he married Arlene Shaddock |
| 12 | | in Moweaqua on July 1, 1956; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Bill West was a lifelong farmer; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Bill West was an active member of the Hanna City |
| 15 | | Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder; he |
| 16 | | volunteered as a chaplain at Methodist Hospital and served on |
| 17 | | the school board for Farmington East High School and as a |
| 18 | | trustee for Logan Township; he was also a member of the Peoria |
| 19 | | County Pork Producers and Farm Bureau; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Bill West was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 21 | | his son, Robert "Rob"; and his sister, Helen Doubet; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Bill West is survived by his wife, Arlene; his |
| 2 | | children, W. Bruce (Julie) West and Jeffery (Tracy) West; his |
| 3 | | grandchildren, Callie (Levi) Allen, Paul (Amanda) West, |
| 4 | | Victoria (Andrew) Wells, and Elizabeth West; his |
| 5 | | great-grandchildren, Ben and Emilia Allen and Evelyn and Lucy |
| 6 | | West, with Baby Wells on the way; his niece, Jane (Ed) Fussner; |
| 7 | | and his nephew, David (Debby) Doubet; therefore, be it |
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
| 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 10 | | William Bruce "Bill" West Sr. and extend our sincere |
| 11 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
| 12 | | him; and be it further |
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 14 | | presented to the family of Bill West as an expression of our |
| 15 | | deepest sympathy. |
