SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Hattie Mae Green, who passed away on April 17, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Hattie Green, the daughter of Ada Bell Walker and Freddie Walker Sr., was born in Elaine, Arkansas on July 3, 1945; and

WHEREAS, Hattie Green started her career at the Community Action Agency in Peoria; she then worked at the Peoria County State's Attorney's Office for over three decades, where she formed many lifelong friendships and earned the respect of colleagues through her dedication and integrity; and

WHEREAS, Hattie Green was a member of the Rising Sun Christian Church in Peoria for more than 40 years; and

WHEREAS, Hattie Green built a life rooted in faith, family, and service to her community; she will be remembered for her kindness, honesty, and love of traveling; and

WHEREAS, Hattie Green was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Vinnie C. Robinson, Georgia Mae Burrell, Freddie Bee James, and Earnestine Fields; and her brothers, Harvey Lee Walker, Leotis Walker, and Freddie Walker Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Hattie Green was the mother of Kathy Green, Amanda Green, Mark Green, Nikki Green, and Tavares Green; the sister of Louise Marshall, Ollie (Thomas) Gaddy, Dianne Patterson, Dollie Walker, and Jerry (Tighteye) Walker; the grandmother of 21; the great-grandmother of 27; and the aunt of many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Hattie Mae Green and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Hattie Green as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
