| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Hattie Mae Green, who passed away on | ||||||
| 4 | April 17, 2025; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Hattie Green, the daughter of Ada Bell Walker and | ||||||
| 6 | Freddie Walker Sr., was born in Elaine, Arkansas on July 3, | ||||||
| 7 | 1945; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Hattie Green started her career at the Community | ||||||
| 9 | Action Agency in Peoria; she then worked at the Peoria County | ||||||
| 10 | State's Attorney's Office for over three decades, where she | ||||||
| 11 | formed many lifelong friendships and earned the respect of | ||||||
| 12 | colleagues through her dedication and integrity; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Hattie Green was a member of the Rising Sun | ||||||
| 14 | Christian Church in Peoria for more than 40 years; and | ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Hattie Green built a life rooted in faith, | ||||||
| 16 | family, and service to her community; she will be remembered | ||||||
| 17 | for her kindness, honesty, and love of traveling; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Hattie Green was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 19 | parents; her sisters, Vinnie C. Robinson, Georgia Mae Burrell, | ||||||
| 20 | Freddie Bee James, and Earnestine Fields; and her brothers, | ||||||

| 1 | Harvey Lee Walker, Leotis Walker, and Freddie Walker Jr.; and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Hattie Green was the mother of Kathy Green, | ||||||
| 3 | Amanda Green, Mark Green, Nikki Green, and Tavares Green; the | ||||||
| 4 | sister of Louise Marshall, Ollie (Thomas) Gaddy, Dianne | ||||||
| 5 | Patterson, Dollie Walker, and Jerry (Tighteye) Walker; the | ||||||
| 6 | grandmother of 21; the great-grandmother of 27; and the aunt | ||||||
| 7 | of many; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 10 | Hattie Mae Green and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
| 11 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
| 12 | further | ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 14 | presented to the family of Hattie Green as an expression of our | ||||||
| 15 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
