SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Seventy-five percent of manufacturers in Illinois are comprised of small and midsize manufacturers with under 500 employees; and

WHEREAS, These manufacturers are recognized for the provision of good-paying jobs and the production of goods that benefit the people of Illinois and the world; and

WHEREAS, Small and midsize manufacturers often have different issues, particularly issues of scale, compared to their large manufacturing brethren; and

WHEREAS, Small and midsize manufacturers want to provide the best and safest environments in which their employees can thrive in the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING HEREIN, that we unequivocally reaffirm our dedication to supporting the efforts of small and midsize manufacturers across Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we urge the small and the midsize manufacturing industries and other relevant stakeholders to form a task force to develop meaningful recommendations for addressing the needs of small and midsize manufacturers in Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That this task force should focus on drafting a comprehensive set of recommendations that include potential legislative suggestions designed to improve and expand small and midsize manufacturers in Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the task force's findings and recommendations should be presented to the General Assembly to help inform legislative efforts aimed at better supporting small and midsize manufacturers; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we remain committed to championing initiatives that ensure the success of small and midsize manufacturers in Illinois.
