HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Joellen K. "Jo" Dooley of Waukegan, who passed away on April 15, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Jo Dooley was born to Art and Marion Dooley on February 12, 1953; she attended St. Patrick's School in Wadsworth, Warren Township High School in Gurnee, and Illinois State University, where she earned a degree in music performance; and

WHEREAS, Jo Dooley was the long-time owner of A Major Music, and she supported hundreds of musicians in their pursuit of music as a hobby or profession; she was celebrated by many at "Jo's Jamboree" one year ago; and

WHEREAS, Jo Dooley was loving daughter, a great sister, and a true and loyal friend to so many; she will especially be remembered for her kindness and her brilliant and wicked sense of humor; and

WHEREAS, Jo Dooley was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved dog, Cain; and some of her dearest friends; and

WHEREAS, Jo Dooley Joellen is survived by her sister, Colleen (Scott) Pacatte; her nephew, Blair (Liz) Pacatte; and her niece, Tara (Jarrod) Schnell; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joellen K. "Jo" Dooley and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jo Dooley as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
