|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Lucy Prouty on the |
| 4 | | occasion of her retirement and thank her for her service to the |
| 5 | | citizens of Ela Township; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Lucy Prouty served as Ela Township Trustee for |
| 7 | | two terms from 1993 to 2001, Ela Township Clerk for one term |
| 8 | | from 2001 to 2005, Ela Township Supervisor for three terms |
| 9 | | from 2005 to 2017, and as Ela Township Clerk for an additional |
| 10 | | two terms from 2017 to 2025; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Lucy Prouty served on the Township Officials of |
| 12 | | Illinois Board of Directors from 2011 to 2015 and 2021 to 2022; |
| 13 | | she has also served on the State Board of Supervisors, the Lake |
| 14 | | Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and the |
| 15 | | panel for the Lake Zurich Chamber's Young Entrepreneurs |
| 16 | | Academy program; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Lucy Prouty's vision included enhancing senior |
| 18 | | programming by purchasing the old Lake Zurich post office and |
| 19 | | converting it to a community center for both 55 and older and |
| 20 | | youth programs; she also helped save funds to purchase land |
| 21 | | and build the new town hall without a loan and relocated it |
| 22 | | from Ela Township highway's garage; and
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Lucy Prouty was voted the Public Servant of the |
| 2 | | Year by the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce in 2005 and |
| 3 | | named the Supervisor of the Year by the Illinois Township |
| 4 | | Association of Senior Citizen Services Committee (ITASCSC) in |
| 5 | | 2014; in gratitude for her public service to the Ela Township, |
| 6 | | the Ela Town Hall east entrance has been designated "The |
| 7 | | Honorable Lucy Prouty Way"; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Lucy Prouty lives in Lake Zurich with her |
| 9 | | husband, Don, and has been a resident of Ela Township for over |
| 10 | | 70 years; therefore, be it
|
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 12 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 13 | | we congratulate Lucy Prouty on her retirement and thank her |
| 14 | | for her service to the citizens of Ela Township; and be it |
| 15 | | further

| 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 17 | | presented to Lucy Prouty as a symbol of our respect and esteem. |
